Tone Relay
Control, record and broadcast your Uniden scanner from any browser.
A web app for the Uniden BCD160DN, BCD436HP and BCD536HP, with live control, programming, an activity log, recording, streaming and fire tone-out alerts sent to your phone.
Everything your scanner can do, in a browser.
Live control
Mirror the scanner display, signal and squelch in your browser, with the keypad, knob, volume and squelch at your fingertips.
Programming
Read every bank and channel, edit them in the browser and write the changes back, with CSV import and export.
Activity log
Every transmission, logged as a conversation timeline, a card per channel or a table. Filter by time and channel, search, and play back with one click.
Recording
Each transmission is recorded as its own audio file, triggered by the scanner’s squelch or the audio level, and playable from the log.
Live streaming
A live MP3 stream and a public listener page, with optional push to Icecast or Broadcastify.
RadioReference import
Browse RadioReference by ZIP, county or statewide agency and add frequencies straight to a bank. Needs a RadioReference Premium subscription.
Know the moment a page goes out.
Tone Relay listens to the scanner audio for fire tone-outs, matches them to your departments and sends an alert to your phone with a link to the dispatch recording.
It listens
Detects two-tone sequential pages and long single tones. Each department can have any number of tone sets, and every page heard is listed so you can add departments from real tones.
It alerts
Sends a Pushover alert to a default app and to each department’s own app. The alert reads “<Department> Page Received at HH:MM:SS on MM/DD/YY” and links to the recording.
It records
Records the dispatch that follows, starting a couple of seconds before the tones. Repeated closing tones are recognized, so you get one alert per page, not two.
It publishes
Can upload each recording to your own website over SFTP, so alert links open a public player page. Old uploads clean themselves up after a time you choose.
Admin alerts keep whoever looks after the system informed: a new version installed, a tone-out that matched no department, an upload that failed, and the scanner connection dropping or coming back.
Plug in your scanner. Tone Relay figures out the rest.
Uniden BCD160DN
Controlled over the scanner’s mini-USB port, with audio from its headphone jack into a sound card line-in (a cheap USB sound card works).
Uniden BCD436HP and BCD536HP
Detected automatically when plugged in, with extra controls for the radio’s systems, departments and talkgroups.
